The Food Waste Reduction Ecosystem Map visualises organisations working to reduce food waste across the food system in Aotearoa. It highlights gaps, connections, and opportunities for collaboration – supporting businesses, organisations, and communities to identify relevant solution providers and strengthen relationships across the wider ecosystem.

We first published a food waste reduction ecosystem map in 2024, and have now developed an interactive and dynamic version that provides detailed information and direct connections to all the organisations on the map.

Through this updated interactive map, you can:

1

Access an up-to-date repository of the food waste reduction ecosystem in Aotearoa. Our map is dynamic and frequently updated to provide an accurate and current picture of the ecosystem.

2

Explore the system as a whole or dive into the details of each section and stakeholder. The interactive design allows you to zoom in and out to see the big picture or focus on specific areas of interest.

3

Target your search for organisations across different parts of the ecosystem. You can use filters to search by waste hierarchy stage, food supply chain segment, or other criteria to find the right partners and resources.

4

Access further information and direct links to the mapped organisations and initiatives you may wish to engage with.

By visualising the full landscape of food waste reduction efforts in Aotearoa, this interactive map empowers businesses, community groups, and other stakeholders to connect, collaborate, and drive systemic change.
